How to Stop Microsoft Teams From Launching at Startup

Here are a few methods which will help you to stop MS Teams from launching at Startup on your PC.

Method 1: Disabling Auto-Start in Microsoft Teams Settings

If you don’t want Microsoft Teams to launch at the Windows startup, then the first thing you can do is to click on the Microsoft Teams’ icon on the Taskbar. If you don’t find the icon on the left corner of your Taskbar, then click on the system tray icon.

Then, there right-click on the  Team’s icon to open up the menu, then hover on the Settings option. From the sub-menu, uncheck the Auto-Start Teams option.

After that, you can reboot your Windows and check if the Microsoft Teams still launch at the startup or not. If it doesn’t work, then open up the Microsoft Teams and click on your Account icon at the upper-right.

Then select the Settings option, go to the General tab, and on the right pane, uncheck the Auto-start application option.

Now, you can simply close Teams settings or even reboot your PC to check if it works.

Method 2: Turn off Microsoft Teams from Windows Startup Settings

Another way you can disable Microsoft Teams to auto-start at the Windows startup is to turn off the Microsft Teams from the Windows Startup Settings.

For that, firstly, press the Windows Key + I keys on your keyboard to open up the Windows Settings. Then go to the Apps settings, and go to the Startup tab at the left.

On the right pane, you will find the list of all the applications that launch at the startup. Scroll and find Microsoft Teams. Then Toggle Off the option to disable Microsoft Teams at Windows startup.

Method 3: Using Task Manager to stop Microsoft Teams from launching at Startup

Windows Task Manager is capable of doing lots of critical tasks, which also include disabling Windows startup applications. Hence, you can use the task manager to stop Microsoft Teams from auto-start at the startup.

Firstly, search for Task Manager in the Windows Search Bar. From the result, lick open the Task Manager, then head over to the startup tab. In the startup tab, there will be a list of all the applications that launch at the system startup.

Find Microsoft Teams and select it, then click on the Disable button below the list.
